God is not the Son. Jesus is God's son. He is the "image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" (Col 1:15). The Greek word for image here is "eikon," which when translated means "likeness, picture, or resemblance," which indicates that he is "similar" to his Father in many ways, just as a son and father are a lot alike and may closely resemble one another when photos of their youth are compared. But they are still two separate people.
