Another question about the pion of the christ?

If have heard a thousand times, "I let my children watch that movie because it is true." Does this really justify exposing children to such an extreme level of violence? If I made a move just as violent and gory about the m murder, , and genocide going on in Africa would you still expose your children to it? Would you wait till they were old enough to understand?
