Islam , in the islam and specially in venezuela how a muslim girl can get to know a man ? Answer only muslims?

i was thinking that a way to know them is in Mosque , also i would like to marriage , and i think this is a good way , i know that the sheik participate in this things , when a girl or woman wants to get marriege the woman talk to the sheik , and he has a big list of mans who wants to get marriege , according to that the woman said to the sheik how she would like that the man looks like and how should be him in the other aspects , then the sheik found the person and he talk to the girl , then they know each other in the mosque if they compag to each other then they get marriege, but the problem is that i dunno if i should go directly and talk with the Sheik and ask him this, iam shy and iam not sure if someone have to do this for the girl any advice plz
