Hi, can someone please tell me how to import new fonts into my office 'Word' app on XP? Thanx...?

I know there's zillions of fonts out there, loads of freeware sites and I have downloaded loads, the problem I have is actually getting them into my fonts folder? I have gone into fonts in Control panel, clicked import and searched for the new fonts that I have downloaded, in the aptly named new fonts folder, and nothing happens? Any help greatly recieved, ThanQ Answers Community...!!
